An inaugural direct flight from Incheon, South Korea to Kalibo International Airport (KIA) will materialize December 4 through Zest Air.
According to the Aklan Provincial Tourism Office, the inaugural flight will be landing at KIA carrying a total of 170 passengers including media personalities of Korean publication companies and tourism industry, crew and Zest Air executives.
After the inaugural flight, there will be 2 regular flights every week by Zest Air Mondays and Fridays.
Starting December 20, however, this will become four (4) regular flights a week up to February 7, 2010.
This event is expected to be featured at local Korean publications and news magazines in Korea.
With this latest development, Department of Tourism (DOT) 6 Regional Director Edwin G. Trompeta said that Kalibo’s local tourism industry and that of Aklan will greatly benefit from this opportunity, which is seen to contribute a lot to the tourism mileage of the local tourism industry.
