The Aklan Provincial Government through the partnership of the Aklan Provincial Tourism Office with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) recently concluded the conduct of the 2-DAY SEMINAR ON CHOREOGRAPHY. The seminar held last June 25 – 26, 2019 at the Gov. Corazon L. Cabagnot Tourism & Training Center is intended for the municipal cultural coordinators and festival choreographers of the various 17 municipalities in the province. It aims to impart valuable knowledge and increase awareness in the performing arts specifically on dance and festival presentations.

Mr. Alphonsus D. Tesoro, Capiz Provincial Tourism Officer and con-current Sub-Commissioner on Cultural Communities and Traditional Arts of the NCCA delivered a message on the context of festival celebrations leaving the participants with significant ideas on why and how they should celebrate or conduct such an event to help promote their own locality.

Resource Person, Prof. Edwin R. Masangcay of the Aklan State University (ASU)-Ibajay, shared with the participants the importance of dancing, its values, types, elements, forms, and purpose.

For their part, the participants gained inspiration and added learning on how to improve and enhance their local festival presentations. By the end of the seminar, the participants were also able to organize themselves into an association with newly elected set of officers.
